The FRIBs Fragment Separator

The FRIBs Fragment Separator is an achromatic device consisting on two bending dipole magnets D1 and D2, three quadrupoles triplets Q1-Q3, Q4-Q6 and Q7-Q9, two sextupoles correctors S4 and S9 near quadrupoles Q4, Q9.

As shown in the LNS-layout picture, it is a part of the CS extraction line

In spite of simplicity, its basic charatceristics are comparable to the ones of the more sophisticated devices installed in the main "In-Flight" facilities (FRS-GSI, A1900-MSU, LISE-Ganil). But for the same reason its selectivity is limited with respect to them.
